Victorinox 125th Anniversary Limited Edition 4-1/2-Inch Tomato/Bagel Knife

Product Description

For 125-Year Victorinox cutlery has been an expression of the Victorinox philosophy: flawless quality combined with great reliability. A gift to you, this limited edition 4.5-inch Tomato/Bagel knife is produced in celebration of their 125th Anniversary with the blade etched with the words: 125-Years your companion for life and "Thank You" in eight languages. The Victorinox 4.5-inch Tomato/Bagel knife features high carbon, stainless steel blade, hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again, so the knife can keep its original sharpness throughout the entire life of the blade. Victorinox handles are ergonomically designed to minimize wrist tension. They provide a natural fit. A good heft and comfortable, positive grip are indications of a well-made knife. A sure-grip handle with a finger guard is valuable feature since the handle inevitably gets greasy, wet, or both. Although cutlery steel is naturally sanitary, materials and construction details of the handle minimize crevices what would offer hospitality to bacteria.

Amazon.com Product Description
A great choice for culinary professionals as well as discerning home cooks, this limited edition 4-1/2-inch tomato/bagel knife celebrates Victorinox's 125th anniversary with special Jubilee Etching on the blade. The blade has a rounded shape and wavy serrated edge that makes it easy to slice both tender tomatoes and crusty bagels. Made in Solingen, Germany, the high-carbon stainless steel blade is made from a hot-drop forging process where the metal grain pattern is realigned and is transformed to a stronger material. Forged blades are typically thicker and heavier than stamped blades, and it has a steel bolster at the beginning of the handle and a tang that runs through the handle's center. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again, so the knife can keep its original sharpness throughout the entire life of the blade.

Customer Reviews

ANOTHER EXCELLENT AMAZON PURCHASE.5
I love good quality knives, but had never found one that satisfied me for slicing tomatoes. This is the answer. The special cutting blade cuts through tomatoes like butter only better. I do not have a problem with the lessor expensive handle. I am certain it will last indefinitely. Only time will tell how long the blade will keep it's wonderful edge. I think a very long, long time based on what I have perceived so far about it's quality. I highly recommend this little jewel. If you cut tomatoes, you will love this.

free!5
What's not to like about this knife? It's a great size for large paring jobs, slicing small breads like a roll, bagel, or baguette, hard cheeses, fruits and veggies, even meats and fish, great steak knife if you need an extra, cutting a sandwich in half, pretty much anything. Best of all, it was free because I bought over $50 worth of other Victorinox knives! I purchased 8 other Victorinox knives at the same time, and I'd say that, ironically, this free one is the one I use most often so far.

Great for tomatoes5
This knife can cut tomatoes into very thin slices. No more mushy tomatoes for sandwiches. It also cuts bagel very well. I find myself picking this knife for a lot of my slicing needs.
